Parcoursup 2027, step 02: how the procedure works
02

Parcoursup 2027: how does the procedure work?

Parcoursup is France's national pre-registration platform for higher education. It allows secondary school students, students changing direction and other eligible applicants to apply to programmes after the baccalauréat.

More than 25,000 programmes were offered in the 2026 session, including bachelor's degrees (licences), BTS, BUT, preparatory classes, specialised schools and apprenticeship programmes.

The procedure runs in four main phases.

  1. From 17 December 2026: discover the programmes.
  2. From 18 January to 11 March 2027: list your choices.
  3. Until 1 April 2027: complete and confirm your application.
  4. From 1 June to 10 July 2027: receive admission offers.

Phase 1 · From 17 December 2026: discover the programmes

The Parcoursup 2027 programme catalogue opens on Thursday 17 December 2026.

This is the time to read the institutions' programme pages and compare curricula, admission criteria, skills taught, career prospects and options for further study.

aivancity's advice: don't stop at a programme's name. Look at its teaching approach, its links with companies and the careers it prepares you for.

Drawn to mathematics, new technologies or artificial intelligence? Use this period to explore programmes specialising in AI and Data, and meet the teaching teams at open days.

Parcoursup 2027, step 03: listing your choices, rules and advice

Phase 2 · From 18 January to 11 March 2027: list your choices

From Monday 18 January 2027, applicants can create their Parcoursup account and start listing their choices.

How many choices can you make?

10 choicesoutside apprenticeships, with no initial ranking
+ 10 choicesadditional ones in apprenticeships
Sub-choicesfor some programmes, under the applicable rules

The deadline to list choices outside apprenticeships is Thursday 11 March 2027 at 11:59 pm, Paris time.

What about sub-choices?

For BTS, BUT, CPGE, DN MADE, DCG, EFTS and DNA programmes, you can list up to 10 sub-choices per choice, with a maximum of 20 sub-choices in total.

Some programmes have sub-choices that do not count towards this limit, including nursing institutes (IFSI), speech therapy, orthoptics and hearing-aid institutes, schools recruiting through a common entrance exam, Institutes of Political Studies (IEP), PASS in Île-de-France and the common veterinary entrance exams.

Specific rules apply to these groupings: in particular a maximum of five choices per type of paramedical programme concerned, and specific campus options for Sciences Po Paris.

Note: the same CPGE specialisation requested with and without boarding at the same institution counts as a single sub-choice. On the other hand, applying for the same bachelor's degree at two different universities usually counts as two choices.

The counter built into Parcoursup automatically tracks the choices and sub-choices you have listed.

aivancity's advice: build a balanced list that reflects your results, your motivations and your career ambitions. Diversifying your applications increases your options without giving up on your plans.

Phase 3 · Until 1 April 2027: complete and confirm your application

Once their choices are listed, applicants have until Thursday 1 April 2027 at 11:59 pm to finalise their application.

Depending on the programme, several items may be requested:

  • School reports and academic results.
  • The statement of purpose (projet de formation motivé), where required.
  • Any additional documents requested by institutions.
  • The "Activities and interests" and "Preferences and other plans" sections.
  • The Fiche Avenir, completed by the secondary school, or the follow-up form for students changing direction.

Important: a choice that is not confirmed by the deadline will not be considered.

aivancity's advice: if you are considering a programme in artificial intelligence or Data, highlight your scientific curiosity, your personal projects and your interest in technology. What matters most is showing how your plans fit the programme you choose.

Parcoursup 2027, step 04: admission offers and the different phases

Phase 4 · From 1 June to 10 July 2027: receive admission offers

The main admission phase begins on Tuesday 1 June 2027.

Applicants gradually receive answers from programmes, which may change as other candidates withdraw.

AnswerMeaning
Oui (Yes)Admission offer
Oui-si (Yes, if)Admission with a support programme
En attente (Waiting list)Application placed on a waiting list
Non (No)Application rejected by a selective programme

Each offer must be answered within the deadline shown on Parcoursup. Failing to answer in time means losing that offer.

4 to 7 June 2027: ranking your wait-listed choices

Applicants must rank, in order of preference, the wait-listed choices they wish to keep. This step speeds up the allocation of available places.

Response deadlines are suspended during part of the written baccalauréat exams, so that students can focus on their exams. The exact arrangements are shown in each applicant's account.

Baccalauréat results are expected on 6 July 2027, before the main phase closes on 10 July 2027.

Parcoursup 2027, step 05: preparing your study plans with confidence

After the baccalauréat, why choose a programme in artificial intelligence and Data?

Artificial intelligence is not only transforming technology jobs. It is also reshaping practices in healthcare, finance, industry, marketing, services and many other sectors.

For future baccalauréat holders, this transformation opens up new prospects: learning to design technologies, use data, develop innovative solutions and understand their impact on society.

aivancity's Grande École Program: five years to build expertise in AI and Data

Open to students straight after the baccalauréat, aivancity's Grande École Program is a five-year programme conferring the Master's grade that combines three complementary dimensions:

TechnologyArtificial intelligence, Data Science, programming and command of digital tools.
BusinessManagement, innovation, understanding organisations and applying AI in companies.

04

Recognition and certifications: a key criterion when choosing your school

Not all post-baccalauréat programmes award degrees with the same recognition. Before confirming your Parcoursup 2027 choices, take the time to check the institution's recognition, the type of degree awarded and its academic or professional value.

Key distinctions to know

State recognitionIt applies to the institution and certifies that it meets institutional and educational requirements.
State-certified degree (diplôme visé)It is officially recognised by the Ministry of Higher Education following an evaluation procedure.
The Master's gradeAwarded by the State to certain degrees at Bac+5 level, it is an academic recognition within the European Bachelor-Master-Doctorate (LMD) system.
The RNCP titleRegistration in the French National Register of Professional Certifications attests to a level of qualification and professional skills. A level 7 RNCP title does not automatically confer the Master's grade.
aivancity obtains the Master's grade for its Grande École Program, explained (video in French)

aivancity is recognised by the French State and authorised to award, for its five-year Grande École Program, a State-certified degree conferring the Master's grade.

This major academic recognition follows an evaluation process covering, among other things, teaching quality, faculty qualifications, research activities and the institution's educational resources.

For future students, it is an important benchmark when choosing a post-baccalauréat programme, in France and internationally.

Our advice: before choosing a school on Parcoursup, always check the official recognition of the degree. Labels such as "Bachelor", "MSc" or "Mastère" do not, on their own, guarantee a university grade.

Parcoursup 2027: what if you have no offer?

Not receiving an offer straight away does not mean your plans are compromised.

The supplementary phase: 10 June to 9 September 2027

From Thursday 10 June 2027, applicants can list up to 10 new choices among programmes that still have places available.

This phase is especially useful for applicants without an offer, but it can also help others discover new options.

Support from the CAES

Applicants concerned can also contact their academic region's Higher Education Access Commission (CAES) for help finding a programme that matches their plans.

Over 80,000applicants received an offer in the supplementary phase in 2026
32,202applicants turned to the CAES in 2026

aivancity's advice: use this period to review your priorities, discover other paths and talk directly with institutions. A successful choice is above all a well-considered one.

06

After the baccalauréat results: administrative enrolment

Once the baccalauréat is obtained and an offer has been definitively accepted, applicants must complete their administrative enrolment with the chosen institution.

The procedures, supporting documents and deadlines are given in the Parcoursup account and by the institution.

Important: accepting an admission offer does not replace administrative enrolment. This final step is essential to confirm your place in the programme.
