Launched in 2025 as one of the first French programmes entirely dedicated to generative artificial intelligence, aivancityâs Master of Science programme is evolving to incorporate agent-based architectures. It is now known as the MSc in Generative and Agent-Based Artificial Intelligence.
In less than two years, generative artificial intelligence has profoundly transformed professional practices. Content production, code generation, conversational assistants, business co-pilots and task automation are now commonplace within organisations.
A new chapter is now beginning with the emergence of agent-based AI. To anticipate this development, aivancity is updating its programme and launching the Master of Science in Generative and Agent-Based Artificial Intelligence.
This transformation reflects the philosophy the school has upheld since its inception: not waiting for industries to evolve before adapting its courses, but preparing today for the skills organisations will need tomorrow.
Unlike AI systems that are limited to producing a response, AI agents can plan actions, interact with various tools, collaborate with other applications and orchestrate complex processes. Within a defined framework, they are also capable of automating workflows autonomously.
For businesses, these new architectures open up significant opportunities in terms of performance, innovation and business transformation. They also give rise to new challenges relating to governance, security, regulatory compliance, accountability and change management.
How an AI agent works
An autonomous cycle: plan, act using tools, observe, repeat.
Led by Dr Antoun Yaacoub, a professor specialising in generative artificial intelligence, the MSc is aimed at professionals who wish to acquire high-level expertise in the integration of generative and agent-based AI within organisations.
The programme stands out from other courses that focus primarily on the design of artificial intelligence models. Its aim is to train experts capable of bridging the gap between cutting-edge technologies and the business challenges faced by organisations.
The MSc thus retains the hybrid approach that characterises aivancityâs programmes, whilst incorporating the latest developments in agent-based architectures, intelligent automation and new forms of collaboration between humans and AI:
â
When we launched this MSc a year ago, many people were only just discovering generative artificial intelligence. Today, companies are already talking to us about AI agents capable of automating entire processes. Our responsibility is not to follow these developments, but to anticipate them.
The development of generative AI, followed by agent-based AI, is giving rise to new skills requirements. Companies are looking for candidates capable of understanding the available technologies, identifying the opportunities they present, integrating them into their operations and ensuring they are used responsibly.
â
Organisations do not just need AI specialists. They need professionals capable of selecting the right solutions, integrating them into business processes and ensuring their deployment is secure, responsible and value-creating.
Upon completion of the programme, graduates will be well-placed to progress into roles such as:
