Biography

Dr. Antoun Yaacoub (email: yaacoub@aivancity.ai" ) is an Associate Professor and Director of the MSc in Generative Artificial Intelligence at aivancity. An expert in generative artificial intelligence and large-scale language models (LLMs), he develops innovative approaches combining automatic generation, cognitive reasoning, and linguistic analysis. His research lies at the intersection of AI, cognition, and pedagogy, and aims to design intelligent learning environments capable of dynamically adapting educational content to the learner’s profile.

He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Paul Sabatier University in Toulouse (IRIT Laboratory); his dissertation, titled “Information Flows in Logic Programming,” paved the way for his research on the modeling of formal reasoning and the control of information flows in symbolic systems. His career has led him to explore the convergence between symbolic and generative approaches, particularly through hybrid architectures combining Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), cognitive taxonomies, and semantic analysis.

Before joining aivancity, Dr. Yaacoub served as an Adjunct Professor and Academic Coordinator of the MSc in Artificial Intelligence for Business Transformation (AIBT) at ESIEA. There, he designed and led programs integrating AI, data science, and digital transformation, while also spearheading international collaborations with Google Cloud France and KMUTT (Thailand). He is also the creator of OneClickQuiz, a Moodle plugin based on generative AI for the instant creation of adaptive quizzes.

An active researcher, he has published more than twenty papers in renowned international conferences and journals (IJCNN, RCIS, ICCSIT, ICMV, KES, Springer LNNS, IJCAI Workshop). He is currently co-supervising a doctoral thesis at Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University on the personalization of learning paths through intelligent and affective tutoring systems.
