What if a degree never became obsolete? That’s the challenge aivancity has chosen to take on by officially launching its ^Degree Update ^{Guarantee©—}a concept that is unique in the world and for which a patent has been filed—which transforms a degree into a true, living asset of skills.

At a time when artificial intelligence, data, and emerging technologies are reshaping professions at an unprecedented pace, aivancity holds a firm conviction: the value of a degree is no longer measured solely at the time it is earned, but by its ability to remain relevant throughout one’s career.

For decades, higher education has primarily focused on helping students enter the workforce. Today, the real challenge is ensuring long-term employability. Training alone is no longer enough; graduates must be supported throughout their career paths.

At the heart of the ^Degree Update ^Guarantee© is a structured educational program designed to provide concrete responses to the rapidly evolving skill sets in the fields of artificial intelligence, data, and digital transformation.

Each year, aivancity works with its experts and partners to analyze technological, regulatory, and industry trends in order to identify the skills that have become critical. Three main categories are examined:

Based on this, the school offers tailored continuing education modules available to graduates in various formats to accommodate their work schedules.

Free Choice of SkillsEach graduate selects the activities corresponding to the skill sets they wish to update, based on their needs and career path.

Courses with the same academic standardsIn-person classes alongside students and online courses designed by aivancity’s faculty members, with assessment based on the same academic standards.

Certified Update on the BlockchainValidated skills result in an official update to the diploma, recorded on the blockchain through a partnership with BCdiploma: authenticity, traceability, and verifiability over time.

As a result, the diploma becomes a dynamic document that continuously reflects the graduate's actual skill level.

This first campaign was offered entirely free of charge as part of a 10-year commitment for graduates of the Grande École Program and a 5-year commitment for Bachelor’s and MSc graduates, with the aim of removing barriers to continuing education and promoting equitable access to skills development.

For a program that is entirely new to higher education, this participation rate reflects graduates’ expectations in the face of rapidly changing skill requirements and confirms the relevance of a model based on lifelong learning.

Through this initiative, aivancity hopes to spark a broader discussion on the evolving role of higher education institutions. At a time when knowledge is rapidly becoming obsolete, a degree can no longer be considered the final milestone of an educational journey.
