aivancity unveils the Observatory of Responsible Practices in Artificial Intelligence
On October 15, 2024, at the Big Data & AI Paris conference, aivancity unveiled the findings of its Observatory on Responsible Artificial Intelligence Practices, based on a survey of 400 executives from French SMEs. This event, which brings together key industry players, highlights the importance of a mindful and ethical adoption of AI in business and society.

The adoption of artificial intelligence will revolutionize businesses and society

Whether this transformation is approached with awareness, enthusiasm, concern, or concrete strategies, the adoption of AI raises key questions about its implications. Strategies, cost structures, and training will be impacted across all companies, affecting numerous departments: production, finance, procurement, legal, human resources, logistics, marketing, sales, customer relations... AI is redefining practices and introducing new challenges.

Consequently, the intended outcomes, desired changes, and planned training initiatives become key issues. The perceptions and ideas associated with AI, as well as its ethical implications, must be examined to ensure responsible and informed adoption.

The Observatory: An Essential Monitoring Tool

The aivancity Observatory on Responsible AI Practices tracks and measures the transformation of AI-related ecosystems within businesses and society. Its objectives are:

  • Identify factors driving adoption or resistance to the development of AI
  • Understanding the skills needs and expectations required to support this transformation
  • Assessing the level of readiness among stakeholders regarding the responsible development of AI

Key trends observed

Among the initial findings from the Observatory, task automation remains the central definition of AI for most executives. Furthermore, the deployment of AI varies significantly across sectors, with a wide range of industries already utilizing it, particularly in manufacturing, finance, marketing, and logistics. Generative AI solutions, such as ChatGPT, also play a crucial role in accelerating this adoption.

Executives also highlight significant ethical issues, with privacy and data security among the top concerns. The study also highlights a major challenge: acquiring the skills needed to effectively support this technological transformation.

3 key points

  • AI is transforming every internal function within companies: whether it’s production, human resources, marketing, or finance, every sector is being impacted by this technological revolution.
  • The ethical implications cannot be ignored: the adoption of AI raises questions about responsibility and ethics, requiring informed decision-making at every stage.
  • New skills are essential: companies must train their employees in new technologies and ensure that they have the necessary skills to integrate AI effectively and responsibly.
