During Dr. Tawhid Chtioui’s visit to Egypt in early June 2024, aivancity and Mansoura University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on June 5, 2024, in the presence of Dr. Ayman Achour, Egypt’s Minister of Higher Education, and Dr.

Chahinda Ezzat, Cultural Attaché at the Egyptian Embassy in France; Dr. Ibrahim Fathy, Dean of the Faculty of Computer Science and Engineering at New Mansoura University; and Dr. Abir El Shater, Assistant Minister for Technical Affairs, overseeing the Egyptian Knowledge Bank.

This agreement is part of the implementation of Egypt Vision 2030, whose objectives include strengthening Egypt’s leadership at the regional and international levels and promoting comprehensive development, which is achieved through various mechanisms, including support for strengthening regional and international partnerships. He praised the academic ties between Egypt and France, which reflect a strong bond between the two countries.

The minister emphasized that the Ministry of Higher Education is working to encourage Egyptian universities to increase their cooperation with prestigious international academic institutions, in line with the objectives of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research. He noted the great diversity of universities in Egypt, including public, national, private, and technological universities, as well as branches of international universities, and explained that the ministry is striving to make Egyptian universities hubs of higher education in the Middle East and Africa. He confirmed the universities’ commitment to offering modern academic programs aligned with the demands of the local, regional, and international job markets.

For his part, Dr. Moawad Al-Khouli, the university’s president, stated that New Mansoura University has established itself as a global leader in higher education, particularly in science, technology, and cultural development, thanks to the support of the university’s regional and international partnerships. This agreement covers several key areas, including exchange programs through summer schools and study abroad semesters, as well as educational trips to enrich students’ learning experiences. The agreement also allows students to enroll in dual degree programs, offering them the opportunity to earn dual degrees with Aivancity, such as the MSc in Data Management and the MSc in Data Engineering & Cloud Data Computing.

The agreement also provides for the joint development of training programs to meet the needs of the labor market, as well as the establishment of an artificial intelligence observatory focused on responsible AI practices in Egypt, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of this field.

Shahenda Ezzat highlighted the efforts of the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education to strengthen cooperative ties between Egypt and France. She expressed her support for this agreement, which reflects a commitment to strengthening educational and cultural ties between Egypt and France, and looked forward to seeing the fruitful results of this cooperation.
